Stefanie Bremer is Professor of Transport and Transport Planning at Bremen University of Applied Sciences and co-owner of the consultancy orange edge. The consultancy specialises in integrated urban and transport planning, including street redesign, route planning, active mobility, cycle superhighways, transport development planning, mobility concepts, the integration of transport considerations into urban design, and flow design. The consultancy has received numerous awards.
Stefanie Bremer is a member of several working committees of the German Society for Road and Transport Research, as well as other specialist working groups. She also serves on various design advisory boards and advises cities, municipalities and funding bodies on competitions, tenders and funding programmes.

How would you describe your vision for the “Spaces of Mobility” for the Munich Metropolitan Region in 2034 in three words?
Perfect – innovative – surprisingly simple.
What do you see as the biggest mobility challenge facing the Munich Metropolitan Region?
Mobility should be approached in a holistic way, recognising its complexity. We should avoid thinking in black-and-white, as doing so unnecessarily obscures the truly good projects that lie in between.
What motivated you to get involved in the IBA-M?
Simply the opportunity to think and plan a little better alongside smart people. And the view of the Alps.
What unique perspective or expertise do you bring to the IBA-M?
I’m thrilled to be involved and bring a lot of passion. From an integrated perspective, I strive to make the most of everything in the field of mobility, whether it’s something that already exists or is yet to be developed.
